Smile…. It’s weekend at last

Yippe. It’s weekend at last. Time for me to rest at home, hang out with friends, watching movies, relax.

Now I can smile this wide. Wishing you a relaxing weekend too.

I found this very interesting website at http://www.blogthings.com/.

It have lots and lots of cool things that you can put in you blog. Below are several of the tests that I did just now.

A Quick and Dirty IQ Test

Hehehe. Kinda proven that I like math, and I’m a mathematical person, never like literature kind of thing. My logical intelligence is below average? Hhhmm. That one, I’m not sure.

What Does Your Birth Date Mean?

Looks more like horoscope prediction to me.

What Pattern Is Your Brain?

I like this one. Somehow this is what is me. And the logical thinking also describes the ay that I’m thinking logically (and it’s rather contrast with the one from “A Quick and Dirty IQ Test” result.

What’s your Superhero Name?

I do agree much with the superpower that I possesed. How do they know that I like technology?

What’s Your Power Color?

Yeap. More or less described what type of person I am.

How Weird Are You?

Hehehe. I’m really weird you know.

What’s Your Blogging Personality?

Yezza. This is why I do blogging. I write what I have in my mind, and what I have come across, what had happened to be in the past and sometimes what will I do in the future.

Puting Susu

For Malaysian reading this blog, it’s not what you think okay. You dirty minded bastard. Hehehe. And for others that don’t understand Malay language, “puting susu” is pacifier, things that baby/kid/toddler love to suck on.

It’s not only adults who think that they need to look good, kids are also victims of fashion. They have choices of designer pacifiers. Keep them as collection, as adults keeping their ray-bans, shoes, handbags and neckties as their collection.

We have simple and cool collection for boys,

and these sexy latest summer collection for girls.

It is something that to be worn not only in the house, before having a nap, it is suitable to be worn when you are out too.

And for the new born babies, we just have something for you too.

Trippin’ in Safari

My entry for the blog this time has nothing to do with the meaning of the entry’s topic, but has something to do with the words used in the entry’s topic. Confuse? You’ll see it shortly.

Due to curiosity of how my blog looks like in Mac, I pay a visit to Mid Valley’s Apple Centre today. Yes. Lets try visiting my blog using that iMac Mini which already have Safari web browser opened.

It looks good I have to say. That’s the power of <div> placement, rather than using <table> tag and blank <img> when layouting your HTML. Huh!!. I sound more like Jasper, my ex-manager when I was in ITS before (Jasper. No offence OK if you happened to read this blog). He’s really a CSS guru.

My blog loads really fast also in Safari, faster than Firefox and way faster than Internet Explorer. I guess Safari does have a very good HTML rendering engine.

Since I’m at Apple Centre, I have a look again at i-Dog. Now only 3 units left, and they will be sold out until the next round of ordering. On second thoughts, it is something nice to put next to your PC, but it is not really practical to carry around.

After for almost 1/2 an hour browsing in the shop, mainly looking for iPod accessories, don’t know how, I bought this.

It’s an iTrip. Lalalalala… Don’t want to think that I wasted my money on this. Lalalalala.

So what is iTrip? It’s actually a money wasting device that you can plug to your iPod, and it acts as FM transmitter. Meaning, you can listen to the song that you play on iPod through you car stereo. Just select which frequency that the signal will be transmitted from iPod, and tune your car’s radio to the same frequency. There you go. You are now listening to the song in your iPod wirelessly.

See. I’m not really in Safari Africa doing my trippin’ there.

The Beatles – I Feel Fine

Been doing my casual internet surfing again just now, before I do my work on my full throttle today. Due to the recent new PC acquisition, I tranfer back all the files that I backup from my old PC to this one, when suddenly I came across the bookmark.html file, a very old bookmark file from the Netscape that was running in Sun Solaris on Sun Sparc machine back then, 6 years ago, during my university days. So many memories looking at that file. Since that was the first time I’m using the thing that we call Internet. How time flies and how Internet has evolved to what it is today.

This http://www.melondezign.com/ website come to my attention since it still exists until today, and I remember back then too, I always visit this website for cool Macromedia Flash Animation.

And, this The Beatles – I Feel Fine flash animation does really lighten my day up. I always love Beatles. I believe my former teacher, Cikgu Azmy, will love this a lot too.

While you are listening, just look at my Awek Baru on the right hand side, just above the tagboard. She will dance with the beat of this song. Hehehe. By the way, I’m feeling very fine today. Enjoy!!!

**Autoplay is off. To play the above flash movie, right click on it and choose Play to play it.

The Beatles – I Feel Fine

Baby’s good to me, you know,
She’s happy as can be, you know,
She said so.
I’m in love with her and I feel fine.

Baby says she’s mine, you know,
She tells me all the time, you know,
She said so.
I’m in love with her and I feel fine.

I’m so glad that she’s my little girl.
She’s so glad, she’s telling all the world
That her baby buys her things, you know.
He buys her diamond rings, you know,
She said so.
She’s in love with me and I feel fine, mmm.

The ending of USB blues

After the incident that my iPod not recognized by Windows, and reinstalling Windows do nothing where there was a worrying news about the possibilty of hardware error, I decided to open the case of my dusty computer.

OMG. It is so dusty. Then I vacumm away the dusts and spider web, and I just tighten up any cables that I can see inside. Reboot my PC, and the plug the iPod back in. Yay! Windows recognise my iPod already.

After that troublesome process of installing Windows, the problem just happened to be a loose cable. On second thought, glad that this happened to. My home PC does need reinstall. I just love using computer that is newly reformatted and reinstalled. Everything seems so fast.

This blogspot blog of mine has been officially launched on September 9th, 2005. And from that point on wards, I have been promoting my blog everywhere (submit to blog search engine, leave invitations at other’s tagboard – hehehe, one of my favourite dirty strategy; and also changing the status of my Yahoo Messenger and MSN Messenger to the URL of my blog as a final step of promoting my blog). Alhamdulillah, adalah gak beberapa org yg sudi melawat blog aku yg tak seberapa ni.

Actually, I have created http://blog.mohdimran.com/ blog a while ago. And that time, I am still updating my blog at Jaring Weblog although not on regular basis.

Below are some interesting facts of the visitors to my blog for this month up to today.

Monthly Visit

Hahaha. In the months prior to September 2005, there are hardly people come. Well. The empty blog explains it so much.

Daily Visit

Above is the number of visitors for this month break down by the day of the week, shown graphically. This one is a bit interesting. My blog didn’t receive that much visitors on Monday and Tuesday. I guess it’s the start of the week and everybody is busy. Wednesday shows a slight increase. I guess people bored with job already and spend time doing casual browsing of internet and blog. Saturday and Sunday show the least number of visitors. It’s weekend man. Get a life and don’t just spend your time reading other’s blog.

Hourly Visit

And what is the time that people visit blog the most? Of course it’s 2pm, right after lunch. This is the time where your stomach is full, and being in air-conditioned office can easily make you sleepy. And you don’t have mood to start doing work yet as you need to settle down and let your stomach digest the food that you just eaten. Why not using this time to visit friends blog? Hehehe. And the least visitors came at 3 – 4am. You must be crazy to still be awake at this time and reading blog.

Operating System used

As expected. Most of people are using Windows. Sorry Yazid. Guess you have to work harder to increase the penetration of the usage of Linux amongst Malaysian. Ahh. There are people who use Macintosh visiting my blog too. Just wondering how my blog will look on Mac. Guess I’ll pay a visit to Mac Centre downstairs shortly and try to browse my blog using Mac. Yes. The Macs on display there are connected to the internet.

Web Browser used

Again, as expected, most people will be using Internet Explorer. But there are quite a number of people that use Firefox too. And I’m glad that my blog is Internet Explorer and Firefox friendly. Tested on Opera, and it looks fine too. But Safari??? Hhhmm. Really have to visit Apple Centre soon. Just curious how my blog will look like on Mac.

Following this problem where my iPod and any other usb mass storage device is unrecognizable by my Windows, I have decided to reinstall my PC.

I have 2 harddisks on my computer, and most of the big things (movies, mp3s, downloaded softwares, digital photos) are on my second harddisk, so it is not that troublesome to backup a few files on my first harddisk (where the Windows is installed) to the second harddisk.

After reinstalling, I face this daunting news. My iPod still cannot be recognized. So did the USB drive and my external harddisk. All of them still give the same USB Device Not Recognized error. So this could be the hardware problem then.

Was too sleepy to continue my investigation. Just leave it for tomorrow. Signing off for today.

My 2 new softwares wish list

Below are 2 newly released softwares that just got into in my wish list.

The first one will be Macromedia Dreamweaver 8.

I will follow up again with my boss about HK getting the licensed to me (they claim that they can get it cheaper using group account to by softwares). I have to tell them to buy this one instead since the request that I sent was quite sometimes ago, and that time I’m requesting for Dreamweaver MX.

This software is kinda a must have to me. I have been developing a lot of database driven website using PHP and MySQL. It will be really hard to maintain and program those without Dreamweaver. Now, I have to install that software in 30 days Trial (with the help of IT). Let see what will happened when the 30 days trial ended. I will make a fuss again about cannot do my work at office

And the second one will be this new Corel Paint Shop Pro X, the successor for Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9 (Corel acquired Jasc).

I am no graphic designer, therefore getting Adobe Photoshop is just too much. Paint Shop Pro is powerful enough for my graphic editing needs. I just need to do simple image resizing, image cropping, image rotate (that kind of sort). Furthermore, I’ve been using Paint Shop Pro since its first version back then during my university days. I’m kinda attached to it already.

Same case as Dreamweaver above, I have to tell them that they should be looking at getting this one instead of Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9.

Man. I’m so tired with this software license thing. They want my PC to be piracy free, and yet, it’s taking so long for them to get the licensed one to me.

While listening to the song on my iPod using iTunes, it stop playing suddenly and iTunes reported that it cannot find any MP3s on the iPod.

I then unplugged the USB cable, and plug it back in when this really ugly error is shown.

WTF. Not again. I have faced this problem before at office, where Windows can’t detect iPod connected to it, and always reported as unknown device. After the no-other-choice-solution of reinstalling the Windows, it back to normal again.

There is no way that I will reformat my home PC here. Just to much things inside. Somehow, there should be a remedy to cure this problem rather that going that long road of Windows reinstall.

Searching on Google was no help too. Found out that I’m not the only one facing this problem. There are quite a number of people out there who had the same problem too. Somehow, this is related USB Mass Storage Device driver.

It can’t be that my USB ports are spoiled since I have USB mouse, webcam and USB WIFI card connected to them and they are all working fin. To prove the theory myself, I then tried to plug in my usual 256 Apacer USB drive. Yes. I’m getting the same problem.

I tried various of things that I can found forum discussing about this, but none solves the problem. *Sigh*

Great! Just another thing that I have to solved in my life. I really hope that I don’t have to come to the decision of reformatting my home PC. Oh. Can’t imagine how painful that will be backuping gigabytes of things that I have in the harddisk.
