Blackout at Bandar Baru Sentul

It’s almost 11pm, and I’m getting ready for bed already. While doing my final surfing before I’m off to bed, things turned out dark. What? A blackout? Glimpse through my bedroom window, and it affected the whole 3 blocks of Mawar Apartment, as well as Melur Apartment as well.

Pheww. That’s a relief. I though TNB has cut off my electricity since I still have outstanding balance from last month’s bill.

Man. I can’t sleep like this. It’s too hot. And I’m started to get hungry again. So I told my friend, lets go out. Anyway, I grabbed my EOS 40D and tripod as well. This will be a good night for photography I guess ;)

So, here is Mawar and Melur apartment. You see. With DSLR, the camera will adjust the aperture and shutter speed accordingly to obtain correct exposure. The EXIF information of this photo shows that, the shutter is opened for 2.5 secs, at f/3.5 aperture. That’s why the two apartments look well lit. But in reality, it’s very dark here.

And here is Mawar Apartment, still looking well lit due to the 2 secs exposure, again, with my kit lens wide open at f/3.5.

Now, let’s try HDR. Set my camera to Auto Exposure Bracketing, with -1 1/3 stop to the negative side, and +1 1/3 stop to the positive side.

So I have under-exposed, correctly exposed and over-exposed photo of Mawar Apartment. Putting everything together in Photomatix, this is what I get.

Well. It seems darkness really makes people to be creative. Anyway, electricity came back at around 12:40am, and I spent 2 whole hours making this entry. It’s time to sleepy.

Mohd Imran’s Photoblog

Guess what? I just set up my own personal photoblog, just to showcase on how bad I am when taking photos with my Canon EOS 40D. LOL. It’s still in crude state, but working already. Still thinking on what other things that I should put there. Anyway, here’s the link

My credit card number stolen

It’s just an ordinary day, feeling bored and sleepy at office, I just do the usual email checking. But something really opened my eyes after that.

What the hell. Recurrent charging my credit card? I tried visiting the link given in the website to cancel the recurrent charges, but it required email, password and Order ID from my original purchase. How should I know. I never made this purchase.

So the next question is which credit card. I’m pretty sure I didn’t see any bizarre activities lately. But wait. My Citibank credit card is using electronic statement, and I haven’t laid my eye on the transaction since last month.

I quickly login to Citibank Online Banking, and retrieve the electronic PDF statement of my credit card. Oh boy I’m surprised. 3 transaction from BillingHLP already, which 2 of them just been posted to the statement in August even though the transaction date is in July.

I gave Citibank a call, and explain what happened. At the end of the day, I decided to block this card. But after that, I just don’t know what to do. There’s no point to argue with the person on the phone. But something really pleased me happened. Way before I even ask about what to do, the person said that she will fax me the disputed transaction form, which I have to fill in and fax back, and the amount will be reimburse to me. I’m just like – Err.. Am I dreaming? Am I hearing that lady right?

And here you go. The disputed transaction form that just been faxed to me. I’m going to fill in, and really hope to receive the cheque pretty soon.
