Wow. I’ve done it again, not writing any entry for quite a long time. For the first time, I feel so blank that I just didn’t know what to blog. Got nothing to do really today, and just decided to visit the site where my new house will be, just checking on the progress. Well, I’m kinda glad to see that it progressing well despite the slow world economy.
And this is the 2 blocks from the opposite angle. 9 floors up, and 9 more to go. Just hoping that it finished as expected, on October 2010. That’s a year and 2 months to go. Gosh! I can’t wait.
I photoshop the photo a bit, just to give a view on how it looks like when all the 18 stories are up.
I guess all the units are sold. The showroom is no longer here and has been dismantled already.
After that, what a coincidence that my friend who just bought a new house recently to gather at his house for a small friends get together. Owning a construction and interior design company, that translate very well at the layout of his house. Well, let’s walk around shall we, and this will be a good opportunity too to get idea on what to do to my new house later.
I always love the city view. The hustling and bustling of the city looks quite peaceful from afar.
And having water pond / fountain at balcony has always been my dream also.
Another thing, the use of mirror is good to make the space to appear larger. This is another must have thing later in my new house.
Living room – the heart of the house. My Sony LCD TV will go on the wall too ;)
Well, I have so many things of what to to make my new house later a dream house. I just hope that I have enough money for all of that. LOL
It’s official now that I will be owning my own house. I have paid the remaining of the 10% down payment, and have signed the Sales & Purchase Agreement (SPA). Will be receiving the signed copy of the agreement in 2 weeks time according to the lawyer.
I guess just to attract people to look for a loan and pay the 10% down payment quickly, the developer is setting up this lucky draw for those who signed the SPA and pay the 10% down payment already. Well, I was there today. The price started with table fan, standing fan, and gets bigger to vacuum cleaner, fridge and air conditioner. And the grand prize is 32-inch LCD TV.
But I always not that lucky to win any of the lucky draw. And it’s so lucky for that “kakak” to walk home with a brand new LCD TV. Gosh. I want that badly. Well, during the lucky draw, the host say something like “does anyone of you having itchy hand today?”. Well, I told my friend I had an itchy feet. There’s a little skin infection (ulat air) between one of my toe, and it’s been like that for 2 weeks already. My friend suggested that I should immerse my feet in hot water.
You guess what? We went to Kolam Air Panas Hulu Tamu at Batang Kali straight after that. This is naturally peoduced hot water anyway, and people said that it has healing capability.
This is where it begins, the water that is heated by geothermal heat in non-volcanic areas. I’m on 50mm lens, and couldn’t get better view of this pool.
Anyway, it really hot. But I don’t know how hot it is. Wish I have the thermometer with me. But it does give a soothing feeling having my toes in the water. But I can only have my toes inside the water for 5 seconds only. And I kinda wondering there’s one uncle there who immerse his whole body in the pool for 5 minutes. I guess I will be cooked if I do that.
I’m a step closer in owning my own house. Late yesterday, I got a from the banker that’s handling my housing loan that my loan is already approved. Was suppose to meet her last night, but due to the massive traffic jam caused by the 40% increase in the fuel price (thanks Pak Lah!), I don’t think it’s a good idea to go out that time, so we plan to meet up at Mid Valley today because she needs to explain about the offer letter.
It turned out that I’m not feeling well today, and call office for sick leave. SMS the banker that I can’t meet today. But she told me maybe we can meet at my house. Well why not. So here is it, the offer letter that I got for the housing loan from OCBC bank.
I have a few other loan application that I made at other banks, but looking at what OCBC has to offer, I think this should be a good choice. Been reading from forum as well about OCBC Housing Loan, and didn’t find any bad stories about it. Furthermore agent that handle my loan is very nice and very responsive. So I put my signature on the offer letter.
So next, I just need to wait for the lawyer to call for appoitment to sign the agreement.
I still feel like dreaming. Many say that buying a house might be the most expensive buy that you’ll do in your life, and I basically done that at last. I was walking around one of the shopping mall to survey about buying a new fridge (there will be a seperate blog about this), where suddenly I saw a booth selling new house. Casa Idaman Condominium – the name kinda sounds really fancy to me.
As always, one thing that people consider about buying a new house is location. This is where this project will be,
and this is the artist impression on how it will look like upon completion.
But don’t take map, photo and agent’s words for granted. It’s better to visit the site myself so that I will have a better sight on things that I will buy. So went to the showroom after that.
And here I am, in the show unit of type B. I kinda like the layout.
There has already been a ground breaking ceremony yesterday,
and work will be under progress too. So this is the area.
The offer that they made is also quite interesting to me.
Finally, it’s the historical moment of my life where I book one unit for myself with the booking payment of RM1000.
I book the type A one, facing KLCC with the price of RM271,400. It is indeed the most expensive purchase that I ever attempted.
So I guess what I have to do now is just to wait for the loan to be approved, and after that will arrange the EPF withdrawal for down payment.
Like always, I like to research of things that I would like to buy. Visiting property forum seems to be a good option, since I can always reject this and get 70% refund of my booking fee.
I’m glad to see that most views are the positive one, to the fact that a new KTM komuter station is under construction very near to this condo, as well as YTL has bought vacant land around this condo to be developed as well. Sounds like this place a good investment.
I just feel so tired today, and slight headache. So I call for a sick leave. But I will get sicker if I just stay at home without doing anything. So decided to go to Ikano Power Centre to window shop at the pet shop (perhaps buy a few water plants for my aquarium).
I don’t really know what happen, I feel the urge of going to Ikea. Maybe after finding out that Ikea is on sales now, and the fact that it is working hour where there are not many people inside Ikea. I will try to avoid coming during weekend at the time like this, where you can hardly have peace browsing through the items there.
I started to collect a number of books nowadays, from computer books, to aquarium related books, to cat related books, game strategies and also various computer/auto magazines that I bought. I think, it would be nice to have a bookcase for this. So, I saw this Agerum bookcase, with the catalogue price tag of RM299.
But due to the Ikea is on sales, the price is knocked down to RM199. I’m excited! This is a must get for today then. Bought a few other small things as well, mainly kitchen utensil – plate, bowl, scissors, onion chopper, chopping board, kitchen timer etc.
As always, Oyen got to be the model of every new thing that I bought. It is just a cat’s nature to be curious if there is something new in the house. So as usual, Oyen starts to sniff and jump over the box.
And here are all the pieces that need to be assembled together. One thing that I like about Ikea furnitures – you don’t have to be carpenter to fix thing up. And the manual is very clear on the step by step that you have to follow to get fixing done.
And here is how the finished product looks like. This sure looks like a very sturdy bookcase.
Actually, there’s a bit accident happened during the nailing process. The nail line supposed to be measured precisely, and marked with pencil.
I did that, and didn’t know what went wrong, my nail line a bit off where it supposed to be. As a result, this is what happened.
Arghhh.. There’s a defect with my bookcase already.
Following up my previous quest of finding new house, this time, it has to happen no matter what as I have about 15 days left at my current house before I have to empty it by 1st of February.
Actually, at the beginning of the month, I have been in contact with the previous agent that I attend when enquiring about the house last time, but sadly the person said that the house is taken. But no worries the person said, as there are many other units.
So I set up an appointment with the person again today, and saying upon viewing the house, if everything is OK, I will pay everything on the spot and I want the key to the house on the spot too. But the person said cannot, something has to be done to the house first.
Hhhmmm. There is always something fishy about this agent since the first time I met. Since last August, when I first view the house, told the person that I can only move in around mid January. The person said I have to pay security deposit with that. I’m fine with it, but she’s asking a month rent for the security deposit. No way! Called her again and saying I want to meet to discuss about paying the security deposit. The person can simply say that I can bank in the money into her account as she’s quite busy. No way jose!!!
In the desperation to get a house, gave a call to my dear blog friend, Malique if he can find any phone numbers of any person that want to rent out his/her house. Thanks Malique. Got a few numbers from him, and gave phone call. So today is the appointment.
As a matter of fact, it’s agent again handling this (two of them). But this time it’s different. Both agent are from a known property company. Everything seems organized, and the guards at this place seem to know both of them too.
So, they brought me to see the unit, at first, the smaller unit of RM700 per month rent. And the agents honestly told me that this house is actually taken, and they only want to show me how small unit looks. I’m quite happy with the layout. But the bad thing is, other small unit will only available in 2 weeks time as they are still doing renovation to it. I can’t wait that long.
But they said they have large unit for rent, but the price is RM750. I said, let’s go and have a look first. So. It’s a yes!!!!
Wow. It’s really large compared to the previous one, and it’s only RM50 different from the small unit.
So went down, and both of them give me this offer to rent letter right away with RM100 deposit. I have to get out now to get the money for the full payment. Come back a while later, paid the money, and I get the keys to the house. Yippe!!!
And what a nice coincidence. There is also Telekom Malaysia representatives down there setting up their both for the residents who want to register for home phone. And without further ado I register one for myself too, and most importantly, I also register Streamyx.
So at night, I come back here again to clean the house. Anyway, this house just finished the construction, and I’m the first person to live here. So everything is very dusty – debris from the construction work. It’s really a hardwork to get everything cleaned up. I should charge that from the landlord.
So another mission accomplished. And I feel so relief now knowing that I have found another place to live. I can’t wait to decorate and arrange furnitures in this house.
So guess in 15 more days, Pantai Hillpark will be in memories.
