I got promoted!

Alhamdulillah!!! There’s no other suitable word for me to start my blog today. After 6 years being with job, today is the day that I moved to another level of my life.

I’ve got promoted to Technical Manager with effective 1st July 2007.

This is what my boss write in the promotion memo.

Imran Ismail who joined us in year 2001 is promoted to Technical Manager. Imran has since proven that he is a reliable member of the team, with high commitment to all the tasks he undertakes. He has shown great maturity and ability in all the projects he managed and has indeed managed them very independently as well. He is always willing to take on additional responsibilities and puts in a lot of hard work to ensure that the end results are met.

This promotion is the Company’s recognition of Imran’s invaluable skills and commitment.

And this is the time that you will feel that you are appreciated of what you’ve done all this while at work.

Called my mum after I got the letter from my boss, and she sounds so happy. Actually, I had a “nazar” that if I got promoted, for every RM1000 I’m getting, I will give my mum RM100 from the first pay of the adjusted salary. So by end of this month, I told my mum that I will give here RMx00.

The annoucement from HR department came later after that, and thanks for those who congratulates me.

But, with greater power, comes greater responsility. Before this, I just have only myself to look after. But now, I have 6 people under me already. It’s not just about me anymore, but now it’s all about my team.

Sometimes, I wonder whether I fit for this position or not. There’s still so much to learn. And in the time like this, I just pray that God will give me strength.
