My new MacBook Pro with 13-inch Retina display
For the first time, an Apple event can be viewed live. In the past, I was just following the live blogging about any Apple event, and save the excitement of watching it later once Apple has made it available to stream or to download.
But this time, the event can be watched live, and in HD from Apple TV. Thanks to the 20Mbps Unifi that I have at home.
So many rumours and predictions of what to be revealed by Apple during this special event, where iPad Mini seems to be almost true, but I’m wishing more for the MacBook Pro with 13-inch Retina display to be revealed. And oh boy my wish came true.
This event started at 1am Malaysia time on Wednesday, October 24th, and finished about an hour later. And what more overwhelming, the new MacBook Pro 13″ Retina Display is available on Malaysia’s Apple Store later that day, and is available to be ordered.
Well, I’ve been planning to sell my current MacBook Air 13″ way before this event, at the time when MacBook Pro with 13-inch Retina display is still just a rumour. I managed to secure a potential buyer.
This event also sees the deportation of the Google Nexus 7 that I bought almost exactly a month ago. This is my late Nexus 7, a few minutes before it was restored to factory setting.
With the good news that the rumour about MacBook Pro 13″ Retina has came true, and with the confirmed MacBook Air buyer, and with extra money from selling over Nexus 7, it is almost certain now that I can proceed with ordering my next new toy.
Over the weekend, I can see that the shipment of my order has started. And today, the DHL tracking page must be the page that I visit the most on my iPhone’s browser, looking at the progress of this shipment.
At 2:57pm today, I just can’t explain what joy that this plain box has brought me, knowing that there is something great inside. And I’m counting the minutes and the second the work hour to be over.
So this package has been shipped by DHL. I guess the company has reputation for a reason. The report of the shipment tracking is very detailed, and the package is delivered on the day promised.
The box is pretty light, which translate the fact the weight of the new MacBook Pro well. Opening the box, there’s the things that I’ve been waiting over since last Wednesday.
The MacBook Pro is securely hold by those hard paper holder. Apple is good with this kind of thing.
And finally, the MacBook Pro is out of the packaging. I’ll let these photos do the talking, as always with my unboxing.
