CIRP : Buying down lights

CIRP = Casa Idaman Renovation Project

My house renovation project is pretty much confirmed, where my contractor need RM6500 deposit before he can start work. That’s going to happen after 3rd Jan 2011 as I can start withdrawing from ASB after the account has been frozen for dividend calculation.

For now, I guess I can slowly starts gathering the equipments needed for my house renovation soon, and the very first thing in my list is down light. Been referred by my contractor to GC Lighting which is at the newly opened Pusat Perniagaan Suria Puchong (Puchong Gateway). The place is just after Plaza Tol Puchong Selatan.

There are so many design of down lights that you can buy. But I just go for the basic one. So here is my shopping list today,

30 down lights and 30 18W Philips energy saving bulbs, where the price is RM5 for the down light and RM8 for the bulb.

After inspecting the goods once I’m home, there is one bulb holder which is broken already (the left one). Was thinking of going back there to exchange, but this is just to small, and that bulb holder will not be visible at all.

Anyway, it’s kind of a wonder that this RM5 piece of thing, when combined with the RM8 bulb can create a modern looking home.

You’ve got the down light casing, the reflector, the bulb holder and the bulb itself. Combine all of these 4 things,

and you’ll get a beautiful and sophisticated look ceiling. The one in the photo below is pretty much the same of what I’m using here, round down light with black ring.

Lastly, the damage that this has caused me today 🙂
