Giant leap – Buying a new house
I still feel like dreaming. Many say that buying a house might be the most expensive buy that you’ll do in your life, and I basically done that at last. I was walking around one of the shopping mall to survey about buying a new fridge (there will be a seperate blog about this), where suddenly I saw a booth selling new house. Casa Idaman Condominium – the name kinda sounds really fancy to me.
As always, one thing that people consider about buying a new house is location. This is where this project will be,
and this is the artist impression on how it will look like upon completion.
But don’t take map, photo and agent’s words for granted. It’s better to visit the site myself so that I will have a better sight on things that I will buy. So went to the showroom after that.
And here I am, in the show unit of type B. I kinda like the layout.
There has already been a ground breaking ceremony yesterday,
and work will be under progress too. So this is the area.
The offer that they made is also quite interesting to me.
- 5% discount for bumiputera
- Early bird discount of RM12,892
- Special rebate of RM8,000
- Free 2 car parks
Finally, it’s the historical moment of my life where I book one unit for myself with the booking payment of RM1000.
I book the type A one, facing KLCC with the price of RM271,400. It is indeed the most expensive purchase that I ever attempted.
So I guess what I have to do now is just to wait for the loan to be approved, and after that will arrange the EPF withdrawal for down payment.
Like always, I like to research of things that I would like to buy. Visiting property forum seems to be a good option, since I can always reject this and get 70% refund of my booking fee.
I’m glad to see that most views are the positive one, to the fact that a new KTM komuter station is under construction very near to this condo, as well as YTL has bought vacant land around this condo to be developed as well. Sounds like this place a good investment.
with 271K you can have a landed property or two apartment in shah alam or damansara and its rental is higher.and the traffic jam at that area is impossible sometimes.
well. i guess i’m a public transport user. the ktm station is something to look for. anyway, for that price, i really hope that it gives the condo feel of living. i know i can buy 2 apartments with that amount elsewhere, but slow lift, only 1 lift working from the lift available, bad service from management, not enough parking – to name a few of things that i cannot bare living at apartment (which i’m facing at the moment). i just want a peace of mind after a long office hour, and i hope for that amount of money i’m paying, that is something this place offer.
traffic jam – it is something that you can’t avoid if you live or work in KL. living in shah alam, passing through federal highway to KL and from KL is also a nightmare.
life before 40, there will two tough decisions that we have to make, buying a house and a marriage. Hope you will just fine with this purchase, wish u best of luck.
but..i think, buying a house is much..much easier than ..er the other one..hehe
hi amirah. totally agree with you. if the other one is easier, i should have one already long time ago. LOL
Hi! Came across this blog when researching for Casa Idaman. Also am looking if this is a good buy.
I guess u also did research on the project. The reviews are kinda mixed, as obviously the biggest drawback on this project is it’s leasehold.
Anyway, hope the purchase will be good investment for u.
hi anonymous. thanks for visiting the blog. didn’t notice that researching on casa idaman has actually brought you here.
yeap. aware of that leasehold status, but finding freehold condo in KL will cost you fortune. the cheapest that i’ve seen so far (for condo) is RM350k. i guess having the property for a period of time is something that you willing to trade off for a cheaper buying price 😉
From the floor plan… it really looks gd… The offer gd too…
Erm…how come the bunting in the pics says RM181,000? That one facing Batu Caves is it?
dude, we are future neighbour..!
just settled everything and tomm. i’m getting my stamped copy of SPA. i really cant wait..
hi. we going to be neighbours to. Im gonna sign the SNP later today and i bought block A. level 17.. i bought the cheapest one RM217K++.. but its okay. i only can afford that.. +)
its okay with the leasehold status. we are not going to live that long anyway. my fren is staying in kepong (double storey terrace) and its leasehold! they just renewed their leasehold for another 100 years. usually condos are selling leasehold…… different people, different opinion, faces, budget, etc etc..
Hi Natasha. nice to see my future neighbour here 😉 Anyway people said that the progress is quite slow. do you think so?
Hi future neighbours. I just pay a visit this evening, i guess the progress is nearly good, at least.
hi Falla. Thanks for stopping by.
wow. nice to see more and more of my future neighbors here. hehe. we should make a mini gathering once we moved in.
i just feel like visiting casa idaman this weekend, just to look at its progress. i do really hope it will finish as scheduled
hi IM, i went to the c the site yesterday.. actually i paid the balance booking yesterday. i saw the crane gone a bit higher than last week i visited. not sure the progress quite slow or not.. but at least its moving and the crane gone up higher.. maybe for poeple who has bought when it was newly launched thought the progress are slow… =(
