Looking at my future

It’s official. My boss has asked us all to sign up our appraisal form today, and will be submitted to HR later.

My appraisal went quite well last Tuesday. I achieved all my goals set up during my last year’s appraisal. And I’ve been in a bigger shoe along the way, managing my virtual team of 6.

And here are what my HK boss (boss of my boss here in KL) set up for me for the goals that I need to achive next year. No more technical related skills to learn. Now it’s time to learn how to lead a regional team. Pheww!! God. Give me strength.

Leading and managing virtual team is harder, since you don’t really see them in front of your eyes, or something that you can meet them and talk face to face if there is any issue to discuss. My virtual team consist of 2 persons from Malaysia, 2 persons from Singapore, 1 person from Taiwan and 1 person from India. We soon will have 1 person from Korea too. I somehow have to keep a good communication between all the team members, so they always get updated news of what the management people is up to at the moment, and to make them feel like a team, virtually of course.

Am looking at the future with hope. Hoping that there is promotion or salary increase next year. Amin
