Bercuti di Penang – Day 3

Today is the last day that I will be in Penang for this trip, before going back to KL tonight.

Last night, out of the blue, the idea of going to Padang Besar popped out. It’s quite good to go there and get new t-shirts, and but some cheap stuffs at that tax-free place.

The journey will be a long one too, in fact longer than the journey that we had yesterday from Pudu Lake back to Penang. The weather today seems ok too. No rain at along the way.

We are this close to reach Padang Besar. I think it’s 35km more where suddenly, we faced flood at Kangar.

After you’ve come this far, there’s no turning back. We can still make a way on the road, driving in water of course, and it’s quite shallow. But we are wrong. As soon as we arrived at the centre of Kangar, the policemen won’t allow us to go further as the water is really deep from that point onwards.

Below is the exact place where we stranded.

Argghhh. We parked our cars at the side where there’s no water, and just join the rest to have a rest and sightseeing here. It’s like a festival with everybody is out.

Then, we heard from the people that the water will keep rising soon. The damp (don’t know which one) can’t hold the water anymore, and they need to release the water, or else the damp will collapse. They have opened 8 doors, and according to the news, the will open 12 more doors so that water gets out quickly from the damp.

It’s time to head back to Penang. We cannot continue our journey with this situation. And it’s true. On our way back, the water has risen, and gets into our cars.

Later, stop at Alor Setar for a meal, and headed back to Penang. Went to karaoke after that, just to relax2, and about about 2am, back to KL.

What a day.
