New laptop and new gadgets for laptop

Finally, all the managers and team leaders in my department have been given a laptop. It’t not really the high end one, but this Dell Latitude D630. I guess it’s not bad with 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo processor and 2GB RAM.

Then came this idea of shopping again. So today, I got the following for the notebook at Harvey Norman.

First is Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000.

The free mouse that came with the laptop is wired and quite big for a laptop. And I’ve been known to be a wireless fan. And this one is just nice and fit my budget.

The second thing that I get is Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000. Seems like Microsoft likes this number 3000 to name their product.

It’s been a trend now in company to use freely available VoIP service to communicate with colleague from other country. It’s cheap, ….. well ……, it’s free! I don’t like the one that we need to plug into the sound’s card phone jack as that one is just merely plugging headphone to audio out jack, and microphone to mic jack, and we don’t have much control to the operation of it.

The one that I’m getting here is the USB version. Some of the features that this one has (taken from the text on the package)
